Our Book Club had the honour of presenting the 2017 titles, as the guest spot at this year’s YTF book awards held at RAF Cosford with Staffordshire Libraries. Book Club, who consist of pupils from Years 7 – 10 spent the day: listening to talks from guest authors Virginia Bergin (The ‘H2O’ Series) and Stuart Hill (‘The Cry of the Icemark), watching presentations from other schools across Staffordshire about their chosen titles and finally voting for their favourite book from the YTF shortlist.

All of the pupils worked exceptionally hard on their own performance, which showed YTF headquarters battling through the overwhelming task of selecting next year’s potential shortlist.  As well as this, two of our Year 10 pupils (Clintamol Johny and Mollie Brown) were given the responsibility of chaperoning the guest authors around the awards ceremony. They did such a good job that the guest author complimented them on Twitter! Follow ours @CCSCStaffs or our Facebook Page to see current news and photos.

Well done to Book Club and the staff for organising the visit. See the pictures and video below.
