WarPoetryHistoryPupils in Year 8 have been studying war poetry in History this week. Inspired by Wilfred Owen's famous poem, Dulce et Decorum est, pupils used their knowledge of the First World War to write their own poems. They were given the additional task of using objects related to WWI as the focus of their poems; such as bandages, a trench whistle and even a rat! The students worked hard to produce work which really reflected the feelings and emotions that soldiers would have felt in the trenches of the Western Front. The standard of their work was very high.
