Chesterton Community Sports College has been host to international students for a two week period from 23rd June until 4th July 2014.

DSCF4541San Diego State University Associate Teachers, linked with Keele University, visited the high school for an understanding of British culture and education.

The four associate teachers will be applying their classroom observations from their visit to the theory that they have gained from their studies at San Diego State University. In addition they will be applying their knowledge to a comparison between USA and UK systems of education.

The associate teachers enjoyed a flavour of the Creative Learning Week with a day spent in the 'Eureka' activity which explored the science, maths and culture of Ancient Greece  and a day with the forsensic science project. During their second week they observed lessons across a range of subjects including English, Maths, Science, History, Geography and MFL. They also had the opportunity to learn how transition is managed between primary and high school when they accompanied Year Six pupils spending their first day in high school.

The San Diego students really enjoyed their time at Chesterton and found it extremely worthwhile and informative.

One of the American students commented: 'I feel I have visited the best school in the UK, I have learnt so much, thank you for the opportunity.'
