CCSC pupil Lucas Christer won the Child of Courage Award at the tenth annual Our Hero Awards hosted by the Sentinel on Thursday night. The evening recognised the courage, determination and brave efforts of children from all over Staffordshire, and raised awareness of some of the struggles they overcome each day.

Lucas is a shining example of such determination and was recognised for the example he sets to all, refusing to give up on football and getting to meet a host of local celebrities and footballers such as Ryan Shawcross, Nick Hancock, Gordon Banks OBE, Mark Bright, Tom Pope, Jake Shakespeare and Jonathan Wilkes.

Perhaps, most importantly, Lucas challenged Jonathan Wilkes to a power chair football match. He accepted, so we all look forward to seeing the result. Goooarrrn Lucas!
