Keele University hosted a unique opportunity for ten of our Year 10 students to experience Maths used in the real world. The students were challenged with making money by buying and selling shares at a stock market simulation. The event gave our GCSE students the change to develop important employment skills such as teamwork, problem solving and communication as well as using their subject knowledge in the ‘real world’. Competing against 7 other schools from the local area, Chesterton worked well as a team to claim a commendable 3rd place. Unfortunately we won no money, stock or shares so Mr Powell cannot retire just yet...
