Chesterton Community Sports College is committed to the principles of Fairtrade.
'Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.'
(Fairtrade Foundation).
We are very proud of our status as a FairActive School, which we have held since 2015. We hold a FairtradeDay every year during Fairtrade Fortnight based on the theme set by the Fairtrade Foundation. This day aims to engage pupils with the idea of buying Fairtrade products and seeing what difference this can make all over the world and is supported by Fairtrade being brought into lessons across the curriculum.
Mrs Till is the Fairtrade Coordinator and she attends the regional Fairtrade Conference in order to stay up to date with the latest issues. She has also done work with our local primaries to raise awareness.
