Year 8 students have been using their maths skills in geography lessons. Each student was given £20 million to send aid out to the Japan Tsunami in 2011.
They had to put themselves in the shoes of an employee of the Red Cross. The students firstly had to decide what items they wished to send and then if they could work within their budget. However, the students had to work fast! The people of Japan needed immediate help.
Some interesting debates about what you should send happened during the lesson and everybody managed to stay within budget.
Well done to Year 8 emergency planners.
