Year 9 GCSE History students have been exploring the process of mummification. In particular they have been learning about how this helped the Ancient Egyptians understand the anatomy of the human body.
The students followed each stage of the process from saying Ancient Egyptian prayers for the protection of the soul to the removal of organs to the final process of wrapping the body. They particularly enjoyed the practical task of wrapping the body of a fellow student! Everyone agree that it had been a fun and informative way to learn about this aspect of Ancient Egyptian culture.
