Languages Day was held in the last week of term and this year the theme was South America.
Miss H Felton, Head of Modern Languages, gave an thought provoking presentation on South America in assembly. Throughout the day lessons across the curriculum used the languages and culture of South America as the theme. For example in maths lessons different groups of pupils explored Mayan Mathematics, studied the geometric properties of South American flags and practised calculation skills within the context of facts and figures about South America.
Throughout the day there was a variety of games and quizzes for pupils to take part in including; balita (a football themed game) and 'pin the tail on the llama'.
Refreshments of hot chocolate and doughnuts at breaktime continued the South American theme.
Many staff wore South American fancy dress and there were appearances by that now infamous beast, the 'Chesterton Alpaca'!
