Parents and carers of Year 9 pupils joined the MFL department in the library on Thursday 9th October for a very well attended evening to discuss language learning at the school. Parents were given an overview of the French, Spanish and Italian GCSE courses, as well as examples of how parents can support their child's GCSE language learning at home.
The evening included presentations from two pupils who discussed their own methods and techniques used to help them learn both their speaking and written coursework during the previous 2 years.
In addition there was a presentation from a current parent/teacher who discussed their own personal experiences and tactics used to support their child's learning at home and the fabulous successes as a result of these efforts.
The event was a tremendous success and the MFL department would like to extend their thanks to Mrs Embury and the year 11 prefects for their support throughout the evening. Should parents require a copy of the presentations, please contact the school.
