All the year 7 pupils took part in a morning of PSCHE activities on Friday 31st January 2014.
The focus for the morning was 'Skills for Life' and pupils moved around a carousel of activities on healthy eating, road safety and first aid.
In the healthy eating session, Miss Machin explained to pupils the importance of the different food groups and of having a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables.
Pupils then worked in groups with the challenge of identifying the healthiest choices from the menus of a range of popular restaurants.
The first aid sessions included practical work on CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) as part of the ongoing Heartstart Initiative within the school. Finally a video presentation brought home to pupils the importance of following basic safety procedures when out and about in the streets, either walking or cycling.
The pupils worked hard all morning, based in their house teams and enjoyed the activities.
