Twelve CCSC pupils were selected to take part in the Staffordshire Gifted and Talented Science and Technology Day at Stoke-on-Trent, Cauldon College. The day involved mixing onto teams with other local schools to solve a series of technological problems and compete to create the best solution for each one. All pupils had a great time working with other schools and you can see their efforts below. There were four challenges in all:
LEGO Robotics: Create a LEGO robot to navigate an obstacle course and perform a trick!
Vehicle Engineering: Build the fastest vehicle using a motor, wheels and elastic bands.
E-FIT: Design a face with E-FIT software used by Stafffordshire Police, to recreate the faces of criminals (including Mr Kelsall!)
Heart Starting: Practice CPR and complete biochemical tests on bodily fluids to identify diseases.
A huge congratulations to Thomas Peacock, Luke Ecclestone, Bethan Bridgwood and Alfie Jennings on winning awards for creating the best vehicle and the best robot on the day! The award was presented by the Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire, Ian Hudson - you can see the results and ceremony below.
