oxford2013Year 11 students who are part of the Able and Talented Master Class Programme visited Oxford University on Friday 25th October 2013. The trip was an opportunity to find out about life as a student at one of the most presigious academic insitutions in the UK.

The year 11 students met staff and talked to undergraduates at University College Oxford and had a tour of the impressive facilities. The students involved in the visit were: Jonathan Rogers, Caitlin Barry, Rebecca Pagett, Callum Moore, James Green, Rebecca Green and William Stanier.

The visit formed part of the Master Class Programme which is organised in conjunction with Newcastle Under Lyme College.

All students at Chesterton Community Sports College are encouraged to achieve their aspirational GCSE targets and for the most able this means grades A and A*. The GCSE results for 2013 showed very pleasing pass rates at A/A* in many subjects including: 18% A/A* in Spanish, 29% A/A* in French, 14% A/A* in Statistics, 21% A/A* in Psychology and 23% A/A* in Media Studies.
