The Summer Concert was held on Wednesday 9th July and provided a showcase for the talents of our performing arts students in Music, Drama and Dance.
The sunny evening began with delicious strawberries and cream served in the new decked quad area adjacent to the hall.
The Year 7 Choir, conducted by Ms K Flavell, Head of Performing Arts, opened the concert with a well rehearsed performance. Drama students presented an abridged version of Macbeth which had been developed during Creative Learning Week and GCSE Dance students performed a routine they had choreographed themselves.
A collection of instrumental items included flute solos, a brass duet, the flute group, guitar duets and a performance of 'Warrior' by the Year 9 GCSE Music Group.
The School Choir sang; 'The Swallow' and 'What a Wonderful World'.
The evening concluded with the School Band giving an excellent performance of some lively well known pieces including: 'Mambo No. 5', 'Thunderbirds' and 'Amarillo'.
Mrs L Jackson, Executive Headteacher, said: 'I'm very impressed with all the performances tonight and want to thank the students for their hard work'.
