Our latest Community Day on 17th December saw the Religious and Multicultural Studies Leaders and members of the school choir and flute ensemble visit Chesterton Lodge Care Home. Over the last month the pupils and staff of the school have been donating items for a hamper. Everybody was so generous that we ended up with two hampers and a bag full of mince pies!
The choir and flute ensemble sang and performed a selection of Christmas songs, which were very well received by the residents. It was a lovely morning where both young and older members of the community got to spend some valuable time together.
In the afternoon, the RMS Leaders visited Churchfields Primary School where they helped out with Reception and did paired reading with Year 3. The Leaders enjoyed working with the pupils and had a fantastic afternoon.
We are looking forward to planning our next Community Day in the spring.
