It is with great excitement and encouragement that the fledgling CCSC Eco Committee has enabled CCSC to achieve their first Eco Schools Award at BRONZE level. This is a massive achievement and in the 3 short months of operation, Eco Committee has been successful with:

• Providing paper recycling bins in classrooms and offices
• Collecting and correctly disposing of recyclable waste on a weekly basis
• Completing a community litter pick as part of the Keep Britain Tidy scheme
• Providing appropriate disposal of plastic
• Obtaining a battery recycling bin
• Designing a small poster for every light switch in the school to remind people to ‘SWITCH OFF!’ and save electricity
• Worked with the canteen staff to encourage recycling of carboard and tins
• Spreading the word about the importance of recycling through radio announcements and display boards

The Eco Committee are very proud of their achievements so far and will not stop until we have achieved the all-important top certificate - the ‘Green Award’. Well done to all staff, students and especially the members of the Eco Committee. As we work hard to achieve the SILVER award, we hope to bring successful news in the new academic year.
