During the Autumn term pupils at Chesterton Community Sports College have been taking part in the RLSS Bronze Medallion award. The award is nationally recognised and allows pupils to become trained in water safety skills, CPR and first aid along with water based rescue techniques. The award requires a high level of stamina and skilful swimming.
At present 10 pupils are completing their Bronze award, 6 pupils are completing the Silver award and 4 pupils are completing the Gold award.
The award is a great opportunity for pupils to develop life-saving skills, improve their communication as part of a team and build on their swimming ability. The award runs every Thursday after school and further details are available from Miss Beech.
