On Monday 15th December the PE department took a selection of year 7 and year 8/9 girls to represent CCSC at the Newcastle Schools Futsal tournament.

The year 8/9 team topped their group, keeping clean sheets in all their games. Unfortunately their run came to an end in the semi finals where they lost 1-0 to Wolstanton.

The year 7 girls also topped their group with the following results:

Vs NCHS 3-0

Vs STB 4-0

Vs UAK 2-0

This saw them through to the semi final against Wolstanton which they won 2-1. In the final Paige Taylor scored a hat trick to give CCSC a 3-0 win and crown us champions.

The year 7 girls will now go forward to represent Newcastle at a county competition next year.

All the girls represented the school superbly and have worked hard training each week and this commitment has really paid off.

The Year 7 girls in the team were: Bethany Lane Kosturczak,  Macy Isherwood, Paige Taylor, Tilly Jepson,  Chloe Symcox and  Leanne Gardener Cornes.

The Year 8/9 team was comprised of: Toyah Copeland, Louise Harding, Maisie Booth, Olivia Machin, Adele White and  Lauren Smith.
