On Monday 14th December Year 7 and Year 8 & 9 girls futsal teams represented CCSC at the Level 2 Newcastle Schools Futsal Tournament, held at Keele University.
The Year 7 team started with an excellent unbeaten run recording three draws and two wins. In the final group game the girls lost 2-0 meaning they missed out on the final by just 1 point and finished 3rd overall.
The Year 8 & 9 team were defending their title from last year and ended the group stage on maximum points, and with clean sheets throughout. The team met King’s Academy in the final and despite a strong battle from a team made up mostly of Year 8 players, they were beaten 2-0 by a strong King’s team made up of all Year 9 players.
An excellent performance by both teams who are now 2nd and 3rd in the Newcastle schools for girls futsal!
