Chesterton Community Sports College welcomed over 300 Year 5 pupils from the surrounding Primary Schools over 4 days to experience a taste of High School life.
The PE department takes pride in developing the skills and techniques of its pupils however we are passionate about inspiring the next generation of sports coaches and PE teachers.
The Year 11 Sport Captains were joined by a number of Year 8s and 9s to lead the Junior pupils through exciting races and competitions before putting their own pride on the line in a round robin tournament. It enabled the young leaders, with the help of our experienced Sport Captains, to develop their confidence in presentation, communication, organisation and motivational skills. Maybe we have seen some of our future Sports Captains in action!
Our thanks as a department go to the Sports Captains: Jacob Walton (Bannister), Megan Futter (Shakespeare), Matthew Ray (Elgar) and Cara Landers (Newton). Alongside our young leaders Jahmena Farrel, Katana Riccardo, Maisie Booth, Bradley Reynolds, Kyle Yemm in Year 9 and Paige Taylor, Bethany Kosturczak and Lauren McDonald in Year 8.
