James Brayford, year 11, had the honour of leading out the Tour of Britain cycle race recently.

A stage of the Tour started in Hanley and James was selected by his cycling club, Lyme Racing Club, to lead out the professional cyclists at the start of the stage.

James is a very keen cyclist and is a regular rider with his club.

At school James studies GCSE PE and he is sports leader for Elgar House.
