Year 7 have been putting their speaking and listening skills to the test by looking at Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ for their topic of ‘Plays in Performance’. During this topic they have looked at a range of extracts from across the play and have shown their own acting skills both individually and as part of a group. They have participated in a range of activities to bring Shakespeare’s words alive: from creating freeze frames to represent certain scenes, hot-seating to demonstrate their knowledge of characters and transposing iconic soliloquies from Shakespearean to modern English to appeal to a wide audience.

All of Year 7 have thoroughly enjoyed this topic and have shown a mature attitude throughout the half term. Well done Year 7!
